Early enough, he devoted his life to the service of God. His zeal for the things of God and his dedication to selfless service was simply outstanding hence his appointment by the Church Committee of his Local Church to be the acting Pastor for a year (1994-1995). This opportunity aroused his interest and deepened his zeal for full time Pastoral ministry and he enrolled for one year preliminary theological training which he completed in June 1996 thus, he started his full time ministerial work on 2nd June, 1996.
By the year 2000, Rev. Benson proceeded to the renowned Samuel Bill Theological College, Abak where he obtained a Diploma Certificate in Theology on completion of the four (4) year course.
Armed with his First School Leaving Certificate which he obtained from Qua Iboe Church Central Primary School Iwok I in 1984 and the Senior School Certificate of 2004, he gained admission into University of Uyo undaunted, in his educational pursuit he combined his pastoral work with his academics and graduated with a Second Class Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies in 2010.
In the words of Paul, the Apostle to the Hebrews, “And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron” (Heb. 5:4).
